Job Description:

The Perinatal Service are recruiting for the Torbay Community Perinatal Team. The post is a 37.5 hours per week Band 6 Practitioner (Mental Health Nurse, Mental Health, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist) to work out of our Torbay Antenatal Clinic Base.

We are commissioned to work with women around their mental health pre-conceptually, in pregnancy & post natally. There are also future plans to work with new fathers and there will be opportunity to be part of these service developments as they progress.

We seek a highly motivated individual who is open to learning & developing their skills in perinatal mental health with a comprehensive induction, ongoing development within the post from existing members of the team & with opportunities to attend relevant courses. The wider Perinatal Mental Health Team have monthly CPD with outside speakers & team members who bring relevant learning & case discussion.

Team members are also expected to provide maternal mental health awareness training to Midwives & Health Visitors & Mental Health colleagues. Our work can be challenging & require excellent risk management skills, professional liaison with other services and agencies& a knowledge of safeguarding protocols ensuring a thoughtfulness of the unborn & other children in the family. Induction will be provided tailored to the specialist work we deliver.
