Our professional responsibility is to reduce the risk of infection to others as far as possible. Getting vaccinated against diseases that can be passed person-to-person in healthcare settings is part of this responsibility. The Trust will provide advice, guidance and support on vaccinations and access to vaccinations where requested.
The Legacy Nurse/AHP Practice Assessor role will be an experienced RMN nurse and allied health professional (AHP) in the later stages of their career. They will be providing indirect assessments of practice for Students currently undertaking Nurse and Allied Health Professional training programmes on placement with Devon Partnership Trust. They will be imparting their knowledge, skills and experience and supporting them in the early stages of their career, together with supporting more experienced nurses and occupational therapist in a range of ways. They will need to demonstrate empathy and patience, be passionate about the profession and be able to provide pastoral support to others. We can all reflect on the importance of role models in our own careers and this is an opportunity to have that kind of influence on the incoming generation as they set out on a career in health and care.
This role will be key in supporting nurses and Allied Health Professionals in training and establish a positive work life balance to promote their wellbeing and job satisfaction. Legacy Practice Assessors will need to be confident in building relationships and collaborating with others. They will be providing coaching and mentoring and will be given any necessary training to develop or enhance these skills.
Legacy Nurse/AHP Practice Assessors may work across a range of specialisms or environments across the health and social care spectrum using coaching and mentoring models. They will support practice placements for learners, and liaise with other practice education support staff to ensure consistency of support across the settings.
