Join us as a preceptee and you’ll have access to our fantastic Preceptorship Programme. You’ll be totally supported throughout the programme with access to a comprehensive induction programme, a meeting with your preceptee to agree your individual learning contract, dedicated study time, optional rotational posts, regular clinical supervision, continuous support and networking opportunities with other preceptees across Devon Partnership NHS Trust.

You’ll have opportunities to work in community and inpatient settings across our many mental health and learning disability services. Your allocated preceptee and our Practice Education Team are always on hand to provide the support you’ll need throughout your preceptorship.

You’ll have one day per month of dedicated study time which you can use for a range of activities, including planned visits to other teams, private study time or facilitated clinical supervision groups with other preceptees in the organisation.

We’re committed to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and offer many learning and development opportunities to help you get the most out of your career with us.

As a preceptee it’s likely you’ll be on a shift pattern so living relatively near your work place is useful – luckily all of our working locations offer a lovely working environment and are surrounded by a wealth of great accommodation, transport links and entertainment.

Devon is a beautiful place to live but that doesn’t mean you can’t find city comforts here; delicious restaurants, board game cafes, cinemas, theatre, gyms, rock climbing – they’re all available to you. Houses shares are reasonably priced at around £350-500 per month (depending on your location). If you’d rather live alone then a one bedroom flat starts from £500. First time buyers are well supported here with help to buy and other initiatives available to you.

Famous for

Devon has many traditions but one of our most famous is the ‘flaming tar barrels’ which dates back to the 17th century. Fancy watching a local carry a flaming tar barrel down the streets of Ottery St Mary?
