Our professional responsibility is to reduce the risk of infection to others as far as possible. Getting vaccinated against diseases that can be passed person-to-person in healthcare settings is part of this responsibility. The Trust will provide advice, guidance and support on vaccinations and access to vaccinations where requested.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and service development driven Consultant Psychiatrist to join our growing Community Eating Disorder Team to continue to develop and implement our established assessment and therapy treatment programme for patients in the community with an eating disorder.
The Consultant role is embedded in a dedicated multidisciplinary eating disorders team and offers consultation, assessment, advice, and psychological services and dietetic interventions for patients to 18 years and older with moderate to severe eating disorders registered with GPs in North Devon, Exeter, East and Mid Devon, West Devon and South Devon and Torbay.
The Devon CEDS has developed from a pilot in 2016 and was fully commissioned in 2018. It has successfully rolled out a locality based FREED model in line with the transformation of the Community Health Framework and Long Term Plan.
Additionally it has developed and implemented a dedicated team of doctors, nurses and physician associates for ensuring high quality and timely monitoring of high risk patients for physical health needs across three clinic areas in Devon. This is GP led and is working closely with commissioners and PCN colleagues to develop shared care pathways with primary care
The successful candidate will have experience of both eating disorders presentations and managing complexity and co-morbidity in this client group and be passionate about delivering high quality patient care along with our other stakeholders in Mental Health, Acute Hospitals and Primary Care. This includes the dedicated SEDU ward, Haldon and colleagues in CAMHS. Transition facing work and development of an all age pathway in Devon is a part of Trust strategy and the role would support strategic input into this.
